Howdy!!  Last Sunday we went up to the north of Ambergris Caye - where the rich people live and the famous people hide away from the "riff raff".    We went with our friend, Jorge.

Here is the view I see each day I drive to school.

Here is the view of San Mateo where my school is located.

This is Palapa Bar...notice the inner tubes floating in the water.  You can sit in an inner tube and have drinks sent down to you via a rope and bucket.

Here are the beaches by the fancy resorts.

Jorge captured a green snake while we were driving.  Needless to say, I did not get out of the golf cart!

Some animal life in Belize.

Views through the clear Caribbean waters.

A beautiful beach at the north end of the island.

What is in that clear water?????

Mom and Danny looking toward Mexico.

Here is one of the pools at Captain Morgan's resort.  Danny had a great time hanging here.

This big guy walked into the bar at the Captain Morgan'sand eventually jumped up onto a table and tried to eat a patron's lunch.

Danny reaching for a coconut - by standing on a coconut!!!  Ingenious!!!!

Here is one of the guest shacks for rent.....right on the beach!

More animal life in paradise.

On the drive home this guy grabbed onto our golf cart for a free ride.  This happens all the time!!

Lots of rain this week, but we had a good Thanksgiving.  We both had school, but we went out for a tradition - and huge - Thanksgiving dinner at a local restaurant.  It was great!  We did, however, miss the family A LOT!!

Next post will be our horseback riding adventure in the rain forest and our visit to Altun Ha Mayan ruin.

Friday was Culture Day at my school - Holy Cross Anglican School.  The kids represented the Creole, Garifuna, and Mestezo cultures in costume, dance, and food.  These are a few of the many cultures represented on the island.  It was great fun.  Enjoy these pictures.

This little cutie came dressed to represent her own culture.

Here are the Mayans who showed up and danced for us.

We were planning on going to Caye Caulker on Saturday - the island south of here - but I was hit with a tummy bug so we stayed home.  Not to worry, I started my antibiotics immediately.  Hopefully, I'll escape the worst of whatever this is.

Enjoy!!
