Sorry about the delay getting back on the blog.  I had some internet problems and some sign-on problems.  As you can see, I had to make a slight change to the site name.  I had to drop the "s" in the title.  So, the site address is now "familypsadventureinbelize.blogspot.com".

Things here are still clear and hot.  I am starting to teach the Science lesson in class now, so I spend a lot of time doing online research and hand creating my lesson materials.  I have no printer to print materials off - and there is no copier here at the school.

The school is great and the kids are fabulous.  They are so sweet and genuine and loving, which is amazing considering the social situations they come from.  I would have expected them all to be angry and sad, but the smiles and love are given freely here.  Here are some pictures of my kids.

The kids are starting to give me little gifts during the day.  One boy gave me a little rubber dinosaur he received from the dentist, another boy gave me a plastic bracelet, and a little girl gave me a small bag of sweets from her snack.

I drive to and from school each day in the golf cart that I rented.  I end up picking up kids who are walking to school, even if they are not in my class.  These kids walk extraordinary distances to get to school each day.  It's unreal.  At the end of the day, some of my kids and their siblings gather around me for rides home.  I'm an unofficial school bus!!  It's really funny.  People on the streets must be wondering who this white woman is driving with all these school kids in her cart.  HEE HEE.

Last Sunday, Danny and I went out to Hol Chan marine reserve and Shark Ray Alley for snorkeling.  We saw so many amazing fish and beautiful coral.  We also saw some huge, graceful sea turtles.  Nurse sharks swam around us and huge stingrays swam right underneath us.  It was a bit nerve wracking, but totally amazing.  I don't have any pictures to post as we were using underwater cameras that will need to be developed.  We'll all have to wait until we get back.

Next Saturday, we will be flying to the mainland to tour Mayan ruins, go cave tubing, and visit the Belize zoo.  It is an all day trip and I'm sure we will be exhausted by the time we get back.  I'll try to post pictures on Sunday, but the internet is incredibly slow at my house and uploading pictures takes forever.  Perhaps we'll go to a restaurant for breakfast or lunch to a place with free wifi, will is a whole lot faster.

That's about it from here.  We have been watching the weather reports from the US.  We hope that you all are staying warm and safe with the cold and snow that is coming.  We'll be back soon enough to start shoveling.
